The next morning Dr. Delessio smiled and walked in to check on Carter.

Samantha walked over to Carter's bed and sat down on the edge of it. She rubbed his back gently. "Carter, look at me," she said softly.

"Because i was alone, nobody really cared they treat me ether like i was dieing or sometimes like i was already dead." answered Carter "Even my brother stopped coming with me for my treatment and i didn't see the point if my brother gave up on me.'

Samantha sighed. She'd heard that a lot. "Carter, you're not alone," Samantha said. "You're never alone in this. She looked him in the eyes. "If you want someone to sit through your treatments with you, I'll do it all you have to do is come back."

Samantha shook her head and called up to the oncology floor. She wanted Carter to meet someone. A few minutes later a nurse carried in a small blonde child and handed her to Samantha. "Carter, this is my daughter Hailey, she has leukemia," Samantha said. Hailey turned and looked at him.

"Hailey is currently undergoing chemotherapy, like you were once," Samantha said. Then she turned to her daughter. "Carter here doesn't wanna go get better anymore cause he thinks he's all by himself," Samantha told her. Hailey shook her head. "Nuh uh," Hailey said. "I go too, we can go together."
