Carter cleched his fists, the pain was really bad but he wasn't going to let her know that.

He didn't have to say a word, the pained look in his fever glazed green eyes was enough to tell her everything as she moved on, plunging the needle into the last tonsil.

Samantha wanted to cry. No patient had ever effected her like this, but the look in his eyes when she finally pulled out the needle and threw it away was almost too much.

"Okay," Dr. Delessio said, getting up to gather her supplies. "Can you lay back on your back again so I have easier access?"
